The design
A navy and gray carpet tile with a soft, cloudy pattern runs through the reading room, under its round tables and wood chairs and up to the built-in bookcases. The dark field keeps the room calm and quiet and hides the wear of daily use.
The work
The bookcases are built in, so the carpet was cut in around each one and finished cleanly at every door and window wall.
