Overview

New vinyl composition tile through the corridors of Fairlawn Elementary School in Fort Pierce for St. Lucie Public Schools. It was a turnkey job: CIC supplied the material, removed the old floor and installed the new one in the summer of 2023.

The design

A bright white field with long bands of deep blue running the full length of each hallway. The stripes pull the eye down the corridor, mark the walking lanes and give every wing the same clean, school-ready look.

The work

On halls this long, the blue bands have to stay dead straight from one end to the other, so they were laid out end to end first and the field was set around them. New wall base and a high-gloss finish completed each corridor.

Products installed

  • Tarkett VCT II, 12″ x 12″, in Pure White (WM480)
  • Tarkett VCT II, 12″ x 12″, in Deep Water (598)
