Overview

Flooring for the new Artificial Intelligence Center at Miami Dade College’s North Campus, installed from October through December 2021: collaboration labs, a lecture room, a command center full of workstations, offices and the corridors that tie them together.

The design

A graphic gray carpet tile with a sharp, angular pattern runs through the labs and corridors and gives the center its modern, technical look. The command center and equipment rooms needed something different, so they received static-dissipative tile that protects sensitive electronics, and black rubber base finishes every wall.

The work

The old floors came out, the slab was prepared, and each room received the flooring its use called for.

Products installed

  • Mannington Googie carpet tile in Telejector, Cycloplane
  • Armstrong Excelon SDT static-dissipative tile
  • Gerflor resilient flooring
