Overview

The second floor of Building 3 at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami: new flooring through the classrooms and corridors and new ceiling grid overhead, completed in early 2026.

The design

A pale stone-toned plank carries the floor, and planks in two blues, a light Big Wave and a deep Midnight Twinkle, are set in staggered runs that drift across each classroom, so the floor feels like moving water.

The work

The old ceiling grid and flooring came out, new grid went in overhead, and the plank was laid to a shop-drawn pattern so every blue run landed where the design put it. Charcoal rubber base finished the walls.

Products installed

  • Mannington Color Anchor LVT, Stride, 6″ x 24″, in Stonehenge, Big Wave and Midnight Twinkle
  • Johnsonite Baseworks thermoset rubber base, 4.5″, in Charcoal
  • USG DX-24 ceiling grid in flat white
