Miami Dade College — Padrón Campus Atrium

Overview

Acoustical panel work in the three-story atrium at Miami Dade College’s Eduardo J. Padrón Campus in Little Havana, completed in early 2022.

The design

Tall acoustic panels are set into a bold teal feature wall that rises the full height of the atrium. They tame the echo of a big, hard-surfaced space while giving the room its signature look.

The work

Every panel had to be set high above the atrium floor, so the crew worked from scaffolding and lifts, protecting the floor below and keeping each panel plumb and evenly spaced up the full height of the wall.
