Overview
Three phases of new flooring at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach: the East Lake common areas in the spring of 2024, Gardens West later that year, and ten floors of corridors and lounges in a residential tower in early 2025.

The design
Each building got its own look. East Lake’s corridors and dining rooms use a soft, mottled carpet in warm greys and browns that sits easily beside the tropical mural walls. In the tower, a deep charcoal carpet tile runs the length of every corridor between white wainscot and painted walls.
The work
These are buildings people live in, so the work moved floor by floor and room by room. New wall base and wheeled-traffic transitions were set at every change in floor, so walkers and wheelchairs roll over each threshold without a bump.
