It’s a great day in the neighborhood, especially for our team at CIC! 2021 has started off with a bang—or should we say, a “spark”—as our Miami International Airport Terminal J project was nominated for, and subsequently awarded the Best In Show Spark award at the 2021 Fuse Alliance Impact of One conference!
As a small business, we are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our projects and humbled by the impact they have on our local community. We are particularly proud of this project, as it is an integral part of our company’s legacy.
Back in 1993, our founder, Eloise Gonzalez, and the CIC team won the chance to reconstruct Miami International Airport’s largest international terminal, Terminal J. Decades later, Eloise’s son, Francisco Geller, and CIC were again entrusted with the project by the Miami Dade Aviation Department. However, the task required an even bigger and more in-depth remodel.
Eager for the opportunity to work on what was one of his mother’s most cherished projects, Francisco quickly tapped our design team to begin the planning. As COVID-19 has changed the function of many day-to-day operations, Francisco had to innovate, working remotely and relying on CIC’s advanced 3D rendering and modeling systems to visualize every facet of the redesign. This included remastering the carpet tile, along with making each individual gate within Terminal J unique.
