Implementing Sustainable Design and Construction
2 November, 2020Sustainability in Construction is a Global Pursuit
20 November, 2020As we dip our toes into a new decade, we pause to review the insights and knowledge learned from the past ten years, which can help guide industry leaders to new innovations and design trends for the years to come. Our team at CIC extensively researches these trends to improve our work and provide insights to others within the industry. Some of the aspects of what we’re focusing on include our commitment to the use of the most sustainable materials, collaborating with top environmental designers for our projects, and leaving a positive legacy on the City of Miami.
Environmental Consciousness
The new-norm across all industries will soon revolve around sustainability and the inclusion of environmentally-conscious decisions. Being in the construction industry, it is imperative that we lay a foundation not only with sustainability in focus but our local community in mind as well. With an emphasis on continual beauty and a net-positive portfolio, our team at CIC has pledged to always use the most sustainable materials and local sourcing. Constant innovation in these materials helps us keep this pledge–benefitting not only our clients but the environment as well.
Sustainably-Designed Workplaces
Half of the battle when it comes to renovation is design. Without sustainable yet durable design, our work becomes obsolete as it will deteriorate and appear less credible compared to our competitors. Design trends are in constant flux, especially when it comes to renovation, but what we’ve seen over the past decade is an upward trend in more sustainable workplaces for the wellbeing of employees and clients. An increased use of recycled materials can be seen in many offices as many materials within these spaces can be repurposed. For CIC, almost every project is unique, but we are always looking for ways to repurpose our excess materials from previous projects including using carpet as potential swatches for new clients to feel the material firsthand. These subtle details help us to remain sustainable and leave a positive impact on the environment and our community.
Leaving a Positive Legacy
Through the 4,500 projects we’ve completed, we’re proud to say that our intentions with every one are pure. We provide full-transparency and keep sustainability in mind to not only better ourselves, but better our community, the beautiful City of Miami. Having been founded here, we understand the importance our impact has on the city as we’re literally laying the foundation for many local businesses. Our relationships with these businesses and their owners humble us and drive home the impact our work has and the innovations we bring to help make the City of Miami the best it can be. From government buildings to condominium spaces, we are truly grateful for every project, and look forward to the next decade of success and sustainability!
